Hey everyone!  So it’s 3 days until Freedom’s Run.  This is going to be a really challenging race for me and I’m welcoming it!  Historically, I’ve ran mostly flat courses.  This racing season I’ve decided to up the anty and take on some hills!

First off, Freedom’s run has a a distance for all.  There’s a kid’s run (1mi), 5k, 10k, 13.1 and 26.2! All in one weekend!  I’m doing the 13.1.

Attack the hills!  Now, of course there’s courses that have more gains than this, but for me, this is a doozy!  I’ve been training hard on local hills.  My largest gain for one run was 1300+feet.  My typical gain for a solid 5mi run around the neighborhood was around 350feet.  Do I have to walk some? Sure.  Have I made progress? Absolutely!

Ready or not WV! Here I come!
