Holy smoke! The DMSE Classic is this weekend!!! Where did the time go? As you read above I am running this as part of being a BibRave Pro, in fact, this will be my first race as a pro!
I’m super excited to have this be my first race. I went into this planning to only run the half marathon. After thinking about it, why not make my first pro race a challenge! I’ll do the hat trick!
Hey, this isn’t hockey! What’s this about a hat trick?! Well, in running, a hat trick is 3 races in one weekend. The hat trick at the DMSE Classic consists of a 5k followed by a 10k on Saturday, then a half marathon on Sunday! To me, it’s a great way to beef up for marathon training for a fall race. I’m comfortable running a half marathon and I’m comfortable running 15k. Now, let’s see if I can do it back to back! As a plus you get 5 medals for running 3 races!
Theres so much more at the race weekend too! There’s a celebrity mile race where you can cheer on local and national running celebs including Bart Yasso (hoping to get a bartie!), Tom Grilk (BAA executive director) and Dave McGillivray. There’s a total of 35 celebs screaming down that mile!
Will I see you there? There’s still time to register and by using code BIBRAVE2017 you can save $5 on registration! Whether you want to bang out a 5k, 10k, do the whole 5 and 10k for the “five and dime”, kick it up a notch for the half marathon or be the ultimate weekend warrior and do all the races for the hat trick the DMSE Classic has a race for you!
Stay tuned for my review after the race weekend!!!
